In this walking tour, we discover the political and architectural history of the European quarter. We stroll along 19th Century Art-Nouveau marvels and Neo-Renaissance masterpieces, while being confronted with the "Brusselization" madness of the 60s that brought us Modernist and Brutalist buildings to suit the needs of the new powers in town. It is this hodgepodge of urban manifestations that makes us understand the past, present and future appearance of this city ... maybe too big for Belgium but too small for Europe.
